My sister is a Special Education teacher and has been committed to helping special needs children for over 25 years. Recently she and another teacher were preparing their lesson plan for Fire Prevention Week (October 6-12). In addition to having a FDNY firefighter speak to the class, the teacher wanted to show a video to reinforce the messaging.
She told my sister she found a great video on the Internet titled the Friendly Fireman. What the teacher didn’t realize was that I produced the video along with members of our video team. At the same time, we created the music video below that featured many of our children.
Although our kids are now teenagers, the fire safety lessons are the same. That being said, there are always new ways to get the message across. Below is a video that the NFPA just released, which features children singing about an important fire safety principle. And be sure to check out the NFPA’s Fire Prevention Week website for some great information and resources to help you spread the word about fire safety.
Will you be involved in your community this October? Whether you are presenting in schools or distributing information when you’re in the home, let us know what you’re doing in the comments below. As a dealer community, you can spread a vital message to help save lives.
