As we begin this season of giving, we wanted to begin shining a spotlight on those security professionals who are giving back to their communities. A great place to start is in Fayetteville, NC, where Holmes Security has been operating for over a century.

A strong believer in community service, Holmes Security got the chance to work with the popular ABC television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition this year. A woman in Fayetteville, North Carolina houses veteran women who are in transition between leaving the military and going back to civilian life. Holmes Security was selected by the show to supply cameras and a home security system for the renovated home.

“We’re proud to be a part of our community and make our community a better place to live,” explains Stephen Holmes Wheeler, president of Holmes Security. “The Extreme Makeover project has been extremely rewarding. It’s been rewarding to be able to watch my employees enjoy being involved in the community. It’s rewarding to see the family move into this home and know that they’re going to be safe. It’s rewarding knowing that the community is a better place as a result of the volunteer organization that came together to help this family.”

The show also featured First Lady Michelle Obama. For a behind-the-scenes look, check out this video.
