Last Friday, with a bit of fanfare, we at Honeywell celebrated an important milestone – reaching 1 million GSM radio subscribers.

At our headquarters in Melville, NY, we were honored to have special guests join us, including former ADEMCO president and Pittway vice chairman Leo Guthart, former AlarmNet president Steve Winick and Roger Fradin, president and CEO of Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions. AlarmNet was Leo’s vision nearly 30 years ago and it was Leo who gave Steve Winick the challenging task of designing the original network.

The original concept that began as alarm signal transport for the security industry has evolved into Honeywell Total Connect, a service which is now bringing the promise of the connected home and the connected business to life around the world.

It was great to have Leo, Steve and Roger join us for the celebration and to share in the massive cakes (shaped like big GSM radios) that were served to all employees. Here are some photos and a quick video of our little celebration.
