Honeywell Helps in Hurricane Recovery

Honeywell is donating more than $600,000 in first responder products to aid in relief and recovery efforts in areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

I have lived on Long Island my entire life. From fishing with my cousins on my Uncle Mario’s dock in West Islip to spending summers swimming at Fire Island, I have felt so fortunate to enjoy  all that Long Island has to offer.

When I heard that Hurricane Sandy was on its way, I never imagined the devastation that the storm has now left behind.  From the evacuation of many of our coastal towns to the cleanup that will continue for months, it’s devastating to see so many families impacted by the storm.  Thankfully, my home has had minimal damage, but I wish I could say the same for many of my colleagues as well as the families in the towns where I have created so many great memories.

It made me feel proud to hear that Honeywell was stepping in with a donation of first responder products to the Nassau Office of Emergency Management. The donation will be distributed among relief and recovery teams on Long Island and nearby areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy. To find out more about what Honeywell is doing, please click here.

At a time when we are pulling together to help our families and neighbors in need, it’s comforting for me to see that my employer is helping to rebuild a place that I have always called home.
