Honeywell AAU Case Study

In addition to granting access to buildings, the badges can be used to purchase food on campus, board shuttles and track class attendance.

Now that college students are ready for a new year, many parents are concerned about the safety of their children when they’re far from home. Parents of children attending Academy of Art University (AAU) can feel comforted knowing that a Honeywell solution is helping to keep their loved ones safe.

AAU is the largest private school of art and design in the United States with more than 18,000 students.  In the heart of San Francisco, the campus is scattered across the city including administration and classroom buildings, residence halls, art galleries and an automobile museum worth millions.

Microbiz Security Co. designed and installed a system based on Honeywell’s Pro-Watch security management system. It controls over 200 proximity readers and manages badging for thousands of student badges each semester. Seamlessly integrated with a VISTA security system, it can be managed from a single command center.  To find out more about this unique installation, take a few minutes to read through the case study.
